thinking of buying new rig, and I know enough about computers to consider myself very stupid. Trying to keep cost down so the wife won't want jewelry when I tell her about the price.
I play mainly FPS (call of duty...etc), so looking for good gaming experience. Any comments or changes, pitfalls are appreciated. Found this combo at Cyberpower.

i agree, 1gb of RAM. Also, lots of people have been having trouble with MSI boards. I'm about to builde a 754 rig myself, and am trying to decide between teh EPoX 8KDA3J NForce3 250Gb Motherboard S754 and the Chaintech vnf-250. Go with an eVGA or Leadtek 6800 card - the eVGA you have their step up program, adn the leadteks are good, stable cards.

take a look at this thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=27&threadid=1371717&enterthread=y - it talks avout all this stuff. Good Luck!

uhh... 6800GT.

which is what everybody else says. or save yourself some money and get a 9800pro(the msi one) and then buy a 6800gt later when the price drops.

iv heard and read about a SH*T load of problems with the MSI board so if its your first build maybe go with asus/abit/gigabyte.

if your gonna game, a gig of ram would be nice.

maybe a 2800+ or 3000+ and overclock? saves some money
