So Ive found this site very useful with reviews, and the forums seem even more reliable for help.
I guess Ill start with my pc specs.
Asus A8N-E socket 939 PCI-E 16x w/1010 bios
Amd 64bit 3700+ 2.22g socket 939 san diego core.
Evga 7900GT CO Superclocked PCI-E 256mb gddr3 (550 core clock, 1580 memory clock).
Samsung pc3200 (two 512mb sticks). Im buying new memory once I get extra money.
Thermaltake Silent purepower 480 watt psu
Seagate Barracuda 250gig 7200rpm w/16mb cache
Western Digital 80gig 7200rpm w/8mb cache
Aopen 52x cd burner
Aopen 16x dvd player
Logisys clear acrylic case w/5 tri led blue casefans, and two 15" green cold cathode neons.
Logitech G5 wired laser mouse
Logitech G15 keyboard
Sony MDR-V700 headphones (powered by a Sony 6.1 channel home reciever).
Steeel QCK mouse pad
Microtek 815C 18" LCD w/30ms response time (I know its bad, but its a old monitor).
What I would like to do is overclock my cpu from 2.22g too at least 2.6g on stock cooling. Im not concerned about overclocking my ram, I want to keep that close as possable to stock speeds.
I have read this topic over and over, and still cant figure it out fully ( http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=28&threadid=1768033&enterthread=y ).
I did a benchmark on 3dmark05 and got 5850 marks, then I attempted to oc my pc and I changed my cpu speeds from 200 too 230x11 with 4x ht from what I could figure out, and my pc started, I did another bench mark and scored 8636. But when I right click on my computer it still only shows 2.22 g, it also only comes up as 2.22 gig in 3dmark05, and inside my console on counterstrike source. When I try to go 235x11 with 4x ht my pc doesnt boot. I guess Im kind of lost on the whole ram timing thing and trying to keep it at the stock speeds, but I dont know. How will I know if my 230x11 clock is working if it dont say it anywhere
Anyhelp would be appricated
Brian
