If you guys wouldn't mind taking a look at this system I pulled together....

ASUS "K8V SE Deluxe" -- Ebay

$81.00

AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor - Retail
$148.00

Mushkin Dual Pack 184-Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - Retail
Cas Latency: 2.5-3-3
$142.27

NEC 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive, Black, Model ND-3500A BK, OEM
Will purchase at a local trade show
(hoping to get it <$50)

I already have a 200GB WD HD from BF @ OM for $50.00
and a Mad Dog FX5200 Video card also from BF @ CompUSA for $30.00

Total = $523 (if I pay retail for the NEC)

OK, that leaves me with 2 things. Case + PSU. My budget is $600; I have $77, any recommendations?

How's the price?
How's the quality of the parts?
Is this a good system for doing some video editing (not going to play any games, so got a cheap video card)?
Any misc. recommendations....

Thanks in advance!

$77 is rough for a quality case and PSU. Are you overclocking? A good PSU alone can cost you $77 and above.

Thanks...

IS there a minimum power requirement with my system. Like 400W or 420W?

Ehhh... I'm not sure quantitatively. 350W on the Antec should run it fine. The problem with getting a cheap PSU that's higher than 350W is that it may not actually be as good as the Antec, despite the higher wattage. Wattage without stability and the ability to handle load means nothing. With Antec you're guaranteed quality.

Your system will run fine on an Antec SLK3700AMB/BQE's 350W unit. You'll probably be fine adding even more, since there's no overclocking.

I'm also a big fan of the Antec cases. They also make a nearly identical model without the front door. You might consider it if you don't like having a door enclosing your optical drives. The Sonata is another good choice for an extra $25.
