I hope this isn't the wrong forum...if so I apologize.
So my system posted fine. Temps and everything else seems stable. I went to try to load Vista and got the following error after selecting the HDD I wanted to install Windows on -
"Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation"
I'm in the process of searching what the issue may be, but it appears there are tons of reasons why you might get this error. I want to rule out my having missed something basic....here are a few details -
1. Installed 2 SATA HDDs
2. BIOS can see both drives and displays specs (these are in SATA 3 & 4 slots - SATA 1 is the DVDROM and slot 2 is empty).
3. In BIOS set SATA designation to Enhanced, and set Configure SATA as IDE.
4. My HDD are OEM so there was no software with them...hence I did not install any drivers or do any formating of HDD prior to trying to install Windows.
5. Got to where Windows asked which HDD to install on, and had choice of HDD 0 and HDD 1. I believe I tried both and in both cases got the error.
Can anyone thing of something I may have missed and should do before trying more crazy things?
Thanks....
