MSI K8N Neo4-F
Athlon 64 X2 4200+
XFX GeForce 7800GT 256
2GB Crucial DDR400
Antec Smart Power 500 Watt

I overclocked the CPU to 2.43ghz and the ram to 430 with stock cooling and my nominal temps are around 40c.

Now what to do with it.......
Which of these games should I install to test this beast out?

Doom 3
Quake 4
UT 2004
HL2

I need to know which game is gonna show off this thing's muscle (or lack thereof)

Does it really matter? I mean, it's your machine. You built it, and got the satisfaction of a job well done. Who cares how it rates? If it does what you want it to do then why do you need check your "epenis" against others? I mean this in a nice way, not trying to be a smartass.

It sounds like an awesome rig. Have fun with it!

Um, you should've tested your PC for atleast a week before overclocking. Well, that's just me.
To answer your question, yes, it's worthy! Nice PC :D

You should install all of them. Quake 4 is the most demanding of the 4, UT2k4 being a peice of cake. HL2 not so demanding either... doom 3 is right below quake 4.

I'd install BF2 with that 2gb of RAM... and FEAR.

why do you test your computer for a week?...?

I've never OCed and I'm just lately looking up some OCing things that I might do with my new rig that I'm currently picking parts out for

I'd test it so I can check if there are any defective parts and replace them under warranty.

Hmm, you left out the two key stats of your computer. The hard drive size and your internet connection speed. We can't tell how much and how fast you can DL pr0n :)

LOL  Probably not.

I would like to know how others with similar systems have tweaked them. I want to ring every possible ounce out of this thing.

it's a worthy system...reason you don't OC first is to first, check for defective parts, as a previous poster noted, and to see what your benchmarks are so you can relate your OCed computer to its stock version just to see if it's worth the OC. if you really wanted to squeeze every ounce of performance out of this, you should've changed your MB to DFI. test all the games. what's wrong with that?

as burner127 posted though, it really doesn't matter what others think of it. this is your creation and your system. be proud of it.

Nice build, i would start playing all those games you built her for. I wouldn't overclock her for at least a week, once she is fully stable.

Holy Moses. I just got done with Quake 4 and I am still blown away!! I never thought that game would run that good or that detailed. I finally see what all the hub-bub is about.
