New Rig Benchmarks

Built a new rig

1.4ghz t-bird
512mb ddr ram
Epox 8k7a mobo
Geforce 2 64mb (NOT ULTRA)
Sound blaster live value
30GB ata-66 7200RPM HARD DRIVE

in Quake 3 @ 1024x768 everything maxed (texture compressoin off) i get 82 FPS

3dmark 2001 default settings: 3300

This sound right? some say i should be getting higher scores.

not bad at all--the scores depended on your vid card--but my old geforce 256 ddr with exactly same cpu and mobo i got about 2800 points on 3dmark 2001.

Well for what it's worth, my rig in 3d mark 2001 I got 4006

BTW Im getting 6,192 in 3DMarks 2001

yeah i think you should...i set my rents up witha 32 meg bf2 gts adn a plll 700@933mhz on an asus cusl2-c...it scored 3k

my amd 1.4@1600mhz on an epox 8k7a 512mbs ddr set at 8862222 gainward gf3 clocked at 227/523 gives up a score of 6365....also what drivers are you using...that can make a bit of a differance

im using the offical dets on nvidias website.

try using the det 1260 beta drives....set your ddr timing settings manually to the specs i posted before you might have to slighly icrease the voltage to the ddr to get it stable...but try it with out doing that first...what os are you running?....there will be differences...2k seems to score highest...followed by me and then 98se

yeah sorry i missed that you posted the os already...switch to the 1260 drivers...you'll see a big improvement there...do the ddr timing settings...that helps also ...and then overclock if you want....but little at a time and only increasing the voltage tot he cpu if you have to....i got lucky and am able to get 1600 at default voltage adn the ddr i only had to adjust to 2.7 to run 8862222....not all mobos cpus and ddr are equal...lot is just luck i think...there are always minor differances
