New ride and old ride.

Just negotiated a great deal on this one, the Hemi's arent as easy to negotiate especially around here. And they didnt have one with the sport package, quad cab, and 20" wheels that had a Hemi. I HATE the chrome grille on the new dodge, its way too overbearing.

5.9L

But the 4.7L is only 5HP less than the 5.9L and 10HP less than the Hemi.

Lay off the crack there dude.

4.7: 235HP/295LB/ft (230HP in Ca)
5.9: 245HP/335LB/ft (2002)
5.7 Hemi: 345HP/375LB/ft
5.9L Cummins: 245HP/460LB/ft
5.9L HO Cummins: 305HP/555LB/ft

...in a vehicle that size, you notice the torque, not the HP. and the V10: 310HP/440LB/ft. And the soon to be available V10: 500HP (SRT10)

Also, the v10 only gets 10mpg:disgust:

I to am gonna get a new dodge here in the next couple months. I am looking at the 2500 club cab. I am gonna buy used because I will be paying cash. I cannot stand payments!!

So much PT hating, I get it everywhere I go and dont understand it.
It's because its main seller is design. It's like most people buy it because it's flashy rather than functionality....I think that's why some people don't like em.

Yeah, that's the downside of it. The diesel in a reletive's 4x4 2500 gets 17-22MPG, is pretty quiet, and has a good amount of pep.

Yep you are right, was thinking something else, been shopping cars for the last 2 weeks all these numbers are bouncing off my skull. What I have for the 2003 Rams are:

3.7L 215HP
4.7L 235 or 240HP optional
5.7L 345HP
5.9L 245HP

The Diesels arent available in the 1500's.

But it is so functional......tons of interior room great seating for 4 adults....lots of cargo space....thats why I bought it to begine with. I am a truck guy but being a sysadmin requires me to carry computer parts around and they dont fair to well in the open bed of a pickup truck.
