I have been hearing different things about this new cooler and woudl like to clear up what it actually is and when can I get one. I have heard that it will have a copper cor and aluminum fins which will be a massive improvement. I am wondering if the fan will actually be any good on these where the older ones just suck, and not in the way they are supposed to.

Anybody got any real info on these?

Why do the fans suck? AFAIK, it's the same fan design on all 3 revisions so far. I own a Rev. 2 for my 9800 Pro, and a Rev. 3 for my 9600XT and both work awesome for me.

I have heard a Revision 4 is in the works for the new X800 ATI cards. Haven't seen any press releases though. Probably a rumor.

EDIT: I just did a google search and came up with a Hardforum discussion with a few people saying that the Rev. 3 models WILL work on the ATI X800 video cards.

yeah I am sure they will work teh mounting holes have been the same for ati cards since the 8x00 series(not sure about the 7x00 but possibly those too). I think the ans on teh vga silencers suck because they don't reach the potential of the heatsink. They work a ton better if you take off all the shrouding and just have good air movement in the case and keep it slightly pressurized. I really want to know more about these new ones because I am trying to set up a new cooling system for my X800 as I described here but in order to do so I ned a massive heatsink such as the VGA Silencer but I definatly want copper.
