New revision 285s

The boards, they are a-changin'...

Well, provided eVGA doesn't mind me swapping out their stock goop for a blob of Ceramique, I've got a 285 on the way in place of my 260 c216. For about $80 shipped (not bad).

The replacement will be this.

All I know about these new 285s is that they have 7 ns RAM in place of 8 ns RAM. They're clocked the same as the old batch; is the OC headroom better? Who knows. That's a matter of curiosity, but not my immediate question.

I'm concerned about changes to the PCB layout. Swiftech quite serendipitously released this just days after I shipped off my 260, and given how much I liked the GTX200 'sink that I used on my 260, I'm almost a complete sucker for this product.

Almost.

I'll see for myself in a week or so, provided all goes well, but for anyone who has received one of these 285s with the different RAM chips... have you inspected the PCB/HSF, and seen any major difference in layout between this unit, and the last revision?
