"New release" movies worth renting?

So I didn't have a great opportunity to watch many movies this past year, and am looking to catch up through renting them. What would be worth my time? I'm basically a big fan of action/drama/thriller movies, the only category I'm really not a fan of would be sci-fis.

Eh its one of those movies where you either get it or you don't. My gf thought it was crap whereas I found it to be an enjoyable movie. Don't expect a pop love comedy

I've rented all of those in the last few months and all of them were rather good, IMHO. Depends on your tastes, though.

Edit: Do rent "The Cooler" as well. Great movie.

You mean Eight Legged Freaks? Good movie, that. Like the classic 50s-60s giant critter movie, but with a moden budget and FX.

it wasn't that bad, i found it pretty interesting, cept for some parts that didn't quite work right.
