Well Republicans better keep doing all they can to tank the economy as they have been because if it improves by next election none of the Crazy Assholes they like will win.

What would that be?

Letting Obama and Geithner continue on with their policies?

And what have Repubs actually offered as alternatives? At this point, mostly nothing, and nothing constructive.

What's wrong with the economy is what's been wrong since the ownership society crashed back in 2008- enormous debt overhang & a sharp contraction in lending, compounded by hoarding of liquidity at the top.

So, uhh, tell me- WTF is Obama supposed to do about that?

... We clearly need to give the Rich even more tax breaks and let them take home even more money!

How else are they supposed to get over that HUGE hurdle Obama has placed in their way (what that is ain't exactly clear yet) that is preventing them from putting AMERICANS back to work.

Why aren't the JOB CREATORS creating jobs like the GOP told us they would if they got their breaks extended?

Because Obama keeps saying he's going to go after them and take their money. It really is that simple.

Ahhh, so we DO need to give them even MORE tax cuts, bigger ones, ones that last longer BEFORE they can put Americans back to work! We MUST protect this FRAGILE class, this endangered species.

So it's CLEARLY Obama's fault.

So extending their cuts like the GOP demanded we do WASN'T the solution as long as they MIGHT think the evil Obama is going to take a dollar away from them!

You head and logic is so far up your fucking ass why do you just finish the job and pull the legs and feet in, too.

Why? Because that was never their intent. Ultra low taxes at the top help to reinforce & intensify the current liquidity trap, invoke deflation. They also starve the govt of revenue, creating the perception that spending cuts are necessary. Wash, rinse, repeat, to recreate the economic environment of 1931, a beatdown of the vast majority of the population.

Deflation always, always, always benefits the haves over the have nots, intensifying the power of wealth & the value of economic rents. And it's always preceded by a period where income shifts radically to the top, debt to the rest.

The ownership society? Free whiskey, except that the debt slave suckas wake up chained to the oars, far, far from land...

Row, you silly biatches! Row, or you'll get the whip!

Your such a mindless hack. What exactly are Obama and Geithners policies that you oppose? Bailing out wallstreet? Ah, no that was Bush.
Starting wars all over the planet, and hiding the money by keeping it off budget? No that was Bush too.

The truth is Obama hasn't been able to enact any of his policies because your filibustering, obstructionist buddies in congress have torpedoed him at every turn. The only legeslation he was able to pass was UHC which ended up looking exactly like what republicans proposed under Clinton and nothing like what Dems or the majority of Americans wanted. Yet you scream about it like it was pure socialism.

You and your republican masters have no policies except defeat Obama. Good luck with that

The "brown hole" phenomenon is remarkably like the "black hole" phenomenon, sucking in everything around it... with enormous amounts of energy expended at the rapidly spinning event horizon...

The only policy for improving the economy/employment I recall Obama mentioning has been another stimulus. And Yes, I do oppose that, and for a number of reasons..

The truth is Obama hasn't been able to enact any of his policies because your filibustering, obstructionist buddies in congress have torpedoed him at every turn.

What policies for improving the economy are you referring to?

Higher taxes, more spending, more food stamps, more governmet jobs, more stimulus, gutting energy companies, more regulation.

Those are his policies. All one has to do is listen to him.

-snip-

IDK. Your article mentions 80 bills but provides little info.

Otherwise, I rarely listen to politicians. I watch editorial shows like Hardball with Chris Matthews, but lately they focus mostly on bashing Tea Partiers or Michelle Bachmann etc. Not much regarding policies seems to be discussed.

Bill Clinton put out some suggestions for improving the economy/employment recently, some I thought were good ideas. Yet I have heard exactly zero discussion on those suggestions by anyone.

When I do hear anything about improving the economic situation, most seem to say the Fed/Treas have no real tools left in the bag to do anything.

While I do think Obama is in way over his head, and I remain unimpressed with Geithner, I have no real hope that the other side will come up with anything I agree on economic improvement with either.

You righties sure are a lucky bunch, after your repubican messiah GWB totally betrayed you and stabbed you in the back and took all your 401k money and gave it to war mongers, the taliban, investment bankers and his wealthy buddys then we the people gave you a black man in the whitehouse on wich to focus your mis guided hate.

But it's becoming obvious you have much more pent up hatred than you can release in just one presidential term, so get ready for a repeat performance so you will have another four years to vent your frustrations. :)

I can't help myself, but go fuck yourself. To imply that not approving of Obama equates to racism is just ludicrous and racist in and of itself. Of course, comments along this line will become more common as the partisan hacks get more desperate.

Don't approve of Obama? You must be RACIST!!!!

The teahadist strawman machine is busy cranking out bullshit already and it's not even November year, still more than a year out... the fear and desperation is palpable and delicious.
