New RCA DS4240RE DIRECTV Satellite System for $109.99 here.

There's no mention of any agreement or contract requirements anywhere for one year or any other term.

Might be good for replacement or 2nd or 3rd room tv.

No mention of access cards either. This is a hot deal if it comes with the card. If you have to call in to get the card like most places do, this is not hot.

I haven't been following the Satellite scene, so I'm not sure- Is the importance of the model number in the title because this (DS4240RE ) model is one of the programmable models?

What do you mean by programmable? I do follow the sat scene and have never heard of programming the receiver.

Actually, I guess I meant the card. I believe that it is the card that holds all the important information. I was just interested in the relevance of the DS4240RE number.

It's just the model number, really has no relevance to what kind of card it will come with it. Since it's return buy it might have the card packaged with it, if the card is packaged with it it's probably an HU card which IS programmable, the P4 which is what DTV will probably send you, you'll be out of luck in the programming department.

Actually if you look at the other receiver they have list on the site #RCA DS4440RE it states service and card not included. I would assume the same for this receiver.

This item is brand new from the manufacturer and has never been opened. It is in perfect working condition and includes all parts and manuals.

I would assume it includes a card.
