Is it possible to have the Nav bar at the bottom hide? (The back, home page bar). It disappears when watching a video etc. So why can't there be a way to make it hide and get some more screen space back. It looks like another row of icons would fit there. Right now if you swipe up that dumb Google search thing comes up. Seems like it could be set to auto hide and then swipe up to make it pop out again.

Some roms allow you to disable the nav bar and get it back by holding the power button and enabling it again in the power menu, but i haven't seen a mod that allows you to swipe up to bring it back yet.

Tell Google. Better yet, just get rid of them completely and give us a physical home button.

Not big enough for another row of icons.

It's not really the swiping per se that's doing it. It's the fact you're pressing the button when you swipe.

The aokp rom allows you to shrink the nav bar to half its height, now it might be possible to ask the dev to allow you to shrink it to 1 pixel and then add swipe up shortcuts for back/home/recent. He's pretty active in the xda forums and can probably add this feature.
