Wow... how many more mice can Razer churn out? Sure, they're good mice, but there's really only so much you can do to a mouse before it starts getting ridiculous.
Well considering that they only have 3 mice on their "current" line up of mice, I'd say another one isn't too far off.
right, there are always niche mice that Razer can pump out, take a look at the Krait for example...
Copperhead, Krait, Diamondback (even the 'new' 3G version) are all older/inferior designs that could/should be easily replaced by an updated/new product. So if you don't consider the Boomslang 2007 CE as part of their regular line up, they really only have the DeathAdder and the Lachesis as what you could consider as being part of their modern lineup.
If we think about it...
Lachesis replaces Copperhead
DeathAdder/DB3G replaces Diamondback
that just leaves us with the outdated Krait which is marketed towards RTSers and MMORPGers because its supposedly good with APMs (some of the biggest load of gimmick/BS if you ask me). IMO Razer knew they needed a mouse that could be priced lower so they could target users who wouldn't normally buy a 'gaming' mouse - perfect for those countless WoW addicts out there. And initial specs really look like it places it in that entry level category...

pretty much the same concept as the Krait except that it has the updated internals and I like the design a bit better - looks more comfortable as I was never a huge fan of the grip rails. Biggest criticism comes with the fact that this is supposed to be a mouse that woos casual gamers and first time buyers - yet it only has 3 buttons...a huge no-no when considering how horrible this is for basic computer tasks such as web browsing.
