A reader of our forum fell on this page from a German store and was astonished enough to see that a version of 150 Go of famous Western DIGITAL Raptor was on sale. We then contacted manufacturing it who has just assure us that a version 150 Go was to be launched indeed on next 3 January.
The characteristics of this Raptor WD1500AD are very enticing since in addition to the fact that its capacity is doubled compared to the current version, it will offer 8 not Mo of mask but 16 Mo, will have an interface S-ATA 2 and will be compatible with technology NCQ (Native Queing Command). Just like its predecessors, it turns to 10.000 tours/minute and is announced for 32 dB/A in idle and 36 dB/A at the time of the access discs. On the German site in question, the announced price is of 319 euros...
Probably not worth the money but I will wait to see the benchmarks. If it doesn't have a transfer rate above 100 MB I will be disappointed.
