I want to buy a 1ghz dual channel kit. I'm currently running a 2100+ on epox 8RDA+ which can take up to PC3200. I want my ram to be able to transfer when I upgrade to socket 939 Athlon64 when it comes out. My debate is between getting:

Corsair Value ram
pc3200
CAS 2.5
Price $172

Geil Ultra Platinum
Pc4000
CAS 2.5
Price $218

Should I run the ram on my current system in sync with my FSB or at 400Mhz, also, what is a good free benchmark I can run on my system to test my performance?

Your 2100+ is a 266 MHz FSB. I try to keep my memory speed matched to my FSB speed because there can be problems with intensive gaming (lockups) if the memory runs at different speeds. The only catch is what speed RAM will you need with you A64. Unless you are going to overclock, get whatever RAM will work best for your socket 940 board; it will be sure to work fine with your 2100+.

Another question, should I buy now or wait until Ram prices come back down if they ever do? I don't necessarily need the Ram imediately, but I was planning on getting UT2004 in the next month and it seems from other posts that 1Ghz is about required for smooth play. It seems like Ram prices are worse than gas prices they're almost impossible to predict.
