new ram crashes games

i currently have two Atlas Precision PC3200 sticks (dual channel) in my system. i wanted to test out the ram my friend ordered (two Corsair CMX512-3200PT sticks), so i put them in with dual channel configuration. it recognized the ram in the bios, windows booted fine, recognized it. as soon as i started up any game, it hung at a blue screen.

is it just the ram is good for his new mobo (Abit AN8 on the way) but not mine? (i have an Asus A7N8X-E) or is something wrong with the ram itself.
