New RAM causes game lockups

Today, I placed a new stick of 512MB RAM into my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard to accompany the existing 512MB. Everything seems fine --- memtest86 reports no errors --- however, when I try to run Guild Wars, my whole system locks. Any idea what could be happening?
