new raid controller detected on every startup

Hi,
This started happening about 2 weeks ago. Everytime I turn on the computer, in the lower right-hand pannel I am given the "new hardware detected" ballon. It says that it detects a new raid controller and asks if I would like to check internet for software. I click yes, and it says "could not install hardware" This happens everytime I startup the computer. What is the deal?

I don't think this is at all related, but it is another question that I have. Recently, I installed new heatsink/fan, and 2 new fans. The computer is very loud and there is lots of air circulating. I installed these in an effort to lower my cpu and case temperature, but in fact, it is higher now! Both bios and my motherboard temp. reader say that. Why?

If anyone can please help me with either of these problems, please do.

Thanks in advance,
Adam

If you are sure the RAID is already installed then you need to either disable it in the Device Manager or install the driver for it so it'll stop bothering you. As for the HSF, make sure you have quality hsf and make sure you check the TIM or Thermal Interface Material under the HSF. If there is one make sure you peel off the plastic cover off it or if there is none, then you need to put one on. Either a thermal pad or paste will do.

My computer detects two raid devices - one specific one, and the one that just says "raid controller." I don't think this is normal. So, I tried deleting the one that is causing the problem, but it doesn't want to permanately delete.

Secondly, the HSF that I bought is made of all copper, so it is high quality. And, I put high quality Arctic Silver 5 on it twice to make sure it was on properly.

Thirdly, I am now gettiing random error messages such as "the program failed to initialize properly" or "not enough quota available.

This problem is really bugging me. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam
