New Radeon Drivers in 3dMark2001...problems

OK i just installed the new DX8 Radeon Drivers from ATI, i think they are 4.13.7075 And i am expereiencing hangs and restarts in 3d mark 2001. They are definitely faster then the Dell ones i had, but far less reliable it would appear. Are their conflicts with the Athlon, or 100mhz ram...I uninstalled Power strip so the card is now stock...same errors....anyone else with problems?.
 
I stuck with the beta version released about two weeks ago at www.rage3d.com...I don't trust those ATI guys..terrible drivers...NO problems seen yet.


I am guessing many may be having reactions to the new ati driver release and we will plenty more post like these...

I would recommend maybe doing a fresh install of direct x 8.0...also check registry to make sure it is clean...
 
The 7072's have been running perfectly fine for me. I actually had the 7075's installed, and everything ran fine except for giants. Giants had GIGANTIC artifacts everywhere, but he 7072's fixed that.
 
Um, Duvie, you know the drivers at Rage3d are also "obtained" from ATI right, meaning all drivers are made by ATI?
