I installed the new 3.2 drivers for my 8500le and now my computer wont even start -
I get the initial bios page and then I get a screen that says
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Check to see you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapter. Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS Updates. Disable Bios memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components restart your computer, press f8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode
Technical Information
Stop: 0x0000007e c0xc0000005, 0x8055c490, oxf8951034, oxf8950d34

So I think that I need to disable the above drive but when I try to access safe mode I keep getting the same message that Is above -
I need advice
Thank You
Ric

Maybe try and select "Last Known Good Configuration" instead of safe mode, and see if that brings you back. If not, and you can't get in to safe mode to uninstall or roll back the driver, you may have to resort to loading from backup (if you have one) or reinstalling the OS. This is exactly why I create a ghost image of my system before doing any major upgrade, be it a video driver or whatever...

Hi
Thank You to all who gave advice - I think my immediate crisis is adverted which is good as I depend on my computer for my livelihood so I am very grateful :)
I was about to give up and wait for a new video card when I started trying things in the BIOS
I went to the PCI/Plug and play setup and disable the "Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA"
This allowed me to get into safe mode and thus disable the faulty driver
Now does anyone know why this worked?
I am curious
Ric
