I just upgraded to new radeon drivers advertised at 3drage.com

I use to be able to play Counterstrike at 1024x768x16 at a decent framerate (maybe 35-55fps, I don't know cuz my console's messed)

with the new drivers, I'm getting some wierd problems (a HE grenade looks like a bunch of sparkley bugs when its in my hand), and WORST OF ALL... I'm getting under 20fps at 800x600x16.

WHAT DA DILLY IS THAT YO?

If you are using the original Radeon, they are not very fast in 16bit color...they were never meant to be. They are actually faster in 32bit color...try that.

The new drivers fix a bug IE5.5 had when displaying the website espn.com. I haven't played any games using these drivers yet.

Have been using the new 4.13.7189 drivers now for a week and have had no problems at all. They seem pretty solid in all apps - and IE6 scrolls better.

Haven't upgraded to the latest drivers, but my AIW Radeon puts out 70fps in CS at (I think) 1024x768x32. Not sure since I'm at work and CS is at home.

Seriously though, try 32 bit, 16 bit is slower on the Radeon.

The newer drivers have Truform on as a default. Type "ati_npatch 0" in the console to turn it off. The game should run much faster and without visual errors. CS runs great on my Radeon LE.
