I got it to boot up but only by setting it as secondary slave somehow. I thought SATA got a higher priority than PATA but Windows still booted off the old PATA drive. Am I able to always boot off the secondary slave or is that not a good idea? Thanks very much.
 
Go into your BIOS settings by pushing DEL during the POST/RAM speed/etc screen.... Then change your Boot Priority to have your SATA drive be the primary drive to look at.. You can then have all remaining Hard/Optical/Floppy Drives in any order you prefer.
