New PSU?

I recently upgraded my computer (new mobo, cpu, etc.) and also had to get a new psu, but now when I start my computer there is no power to my floppy drive, but everything else powers up fine. Now I checked about 5 billion times and I know that everythings plugged in fine. I even went out and bought a new floppy and that didn't work either, but both floppy drives work on my other computer. Now I don't really use floppy disks anymore but I have some work files on some disks and would really like to be able to work on them at home. Do I need to go and get a new psu?

It is highly unlikely that your system works off that power supply but the PSU is the source of your problems with a floppy drive. Does the light turn on? Could you have plugged the ribbon cable in backwards? This is a common mistake. Next I would replace the floppy drive, they are cheap. Then I would suspect the floppy bus on the motherbard, all before I would point fingers at a PSU.

The light doesn't come on at all, and the computer doesn't pick up anything. I checked the ribbon and it's in right, besides it has one of those notches on it. I've already bought a new floppy drive and it didn't work either. I'll try and use a different PSU that I know works and see if it works then. So if it doesn't work then it's probably the floppy bus? God, I hope not...I just bought this dang mobo

That 3pin power cable from your PSU can be bad.
Why don't you get a 4pin to 3pin adapter and plug into your floppy?
Because there is no light at all, it could be power cable problem.

Thanx danii8! I didn't even think of that, totally slipped my mind! That would probably work too! And plus the biggest thing of all is that it would be CHEAP! Thans again for the idea.
