New PSU-Has Fan Speed Control...

Right now its on Auto and the sound of the fan is VERY loud with air thrusting through my side vent.I turned the knob down to low...speed didnt change...so I turned off my computer reset back to auto than to low and than turned on my computer still loud and fast...i'm not necessarily annoyed at the amount of air cool air produced(its good) but the fan is really loud as a result and the knobs dont seem to work.Anyother way I can adjust the speed of the PSU fan?Its brand new
