I managed to solve my sound (and long time to load windows) problem with this board. Apparently, there was a BIOS update that was not listed on MSI's website. I had to download their LiveUpdate program to find it/install it. After that, it has worked flawlessly. And in addition to that, my 3dMark06 scores improved too:

3dMark06: 3166
SM2.0: 1293
HDR/SM3.0: 1168
CPU: 1515

Before fixing the problem I had, the scores were:
3dMark Total: 2804
SM2.0: 1291
HDR/SM3.0: 1151
CPU: 767
