the vdimm on my nf7-s fluctuates real bad, ~2.41-2.82v
i think the 3.3v rail on my zm400a has gone bad.
tested with an st405 and computer doesnt bsod anymore, vdimm ~2.80-2.82v

iirc socket a mobos draws cpu power from the 5v rail, but the nf7-s has an additional 4pin atx12v connector. does this mean it also draws cpu power from the 12v rail if the 5v rail is insufficient ?

i cant seem to find a suitable psu with a high amperage on the 5v rail.
i got this new psu lying around with:
3.3v 22a
5v 15a
12v 14a
12v 16a

will this be fine ?
thnx.

The Abit NF7-S Motherboard uses a Socket 462 that has the 4 pin P4 power connector. Meaning the CPU draws all its power from the 12V rails just like a Pentium 4 does. Its a Pentium 4 equivalent board for AMD CPUs. So any old PSU that has the 20 pin main connector and 4 pin P4 connector will work fine. You don't need a high amperage 5V rail.

Doublecheck your capacitors on the board as well. Fairly easy and cheap to fix yourself if you have soldered before. I've got 2 different boards I've salvaged that way.

did you replace the capacitors on the mobo or psu board ?
the mobo capacitors around the mosfet looks good.
i opened my psu but it s a real tight fit in there, almost impossible to replace a capacitor.

thnx.
