I just upgraded to a Enermax 485w noisetaker from a generic one and I notice static/crackling sound from my speakers. I am using a SB live card. I made sure it was the PSU causing it by plugging in the old one and heard no static. Is there any way to solve this?

the case is on the floor. my speakers are on the left and right of my LCD. Again, it only happened after I switched the PSU without changing anything else.

Could it be caused by me using certain rails from the PSU? Maybe I need power conditoning?

+12.00 - 5.23v <- ........ Should be 12V
How did your old PSU power up your system in that case? oO
Your motherboard is faulty?

The PCI requires 12V

If you bought the Enermax just now you might want to try RMA a new one...

weird...
ENERMAX 485w

3.33v
5.72v
5.17v

either the program or my motherboard has faulty sensors...

edit: LOL sweet the static disappeared! however, this time i only plugged power to my hd, cdrom, floppy, and mb. I excluded the exhaust and intake fan(don't worry, only an athlon 1.3ghz). I guess I got some testing to do...

Oh yeah you should try using a headphone as well. Your 480W power supply might be overloading your mains/socket which you might be plugging in your speaker as well :p No joke
Just to make sure

That makes sense, I am running everyone on my desk to a powerbar. I guess i'll plug the PSU to the wall socket.

Try switching PCI slots on the SB. SB is notorious for popping crackling sounds. Moving PCi slot might make the problem better or make the problem go away. Good luck!
