New PS3 owner: must have PS2 games?

I'm still on MGS4, and the other PS3 games doesn't really jump out ... we'll not enough for me to shell out $50-$60 for it.

Any suggestions on fun or must-haves PS2 games?

same boat, have ffxii and am working on it. mgs4 was a blast, but the online part left me wanting. so i just picked up cod4 today. haven't tried it, but i hear it's supposed to be great.

I highly agree with spidey, I have both series and have put literally, HUNDREDS of hours into these games. Their that fun!

I also recomend:
God of War (haven't played the second)
Burnout 3
Guitar Hero series
all of those retro collections out there

I dont know if they are any good, but I was going to pick up Vice/Liberty City Stories.

You should enjoy COD4 online.... it is very addicting and entertaining. Several game types/styles with ability to customize the game to your style.

The PS2 Guitar Hero games won't work on the PS3. The only Guitar Hero that works on PS3 is the Guitar Hero III that is a PS3 game.
