I'm decided that rootstock from a local vineyard (white heron cellars) will be what I plant on five acres of the south slope drainage of the property. The irrigtion system is something I'll have to research. There is another 10 acres that is very fertile and should produce many bushels of spelt/red grain.
The original owners haven't found a place to live so I've been forced to charge them 'rent'. I've decided that they will only have to pay $500 per month until March.

wow that's generous of you, I am sure your mortgage is more than that, right? Are they going to be helping you out with any work around the place?
