LOL! Yeah, I think a nuclear strike would be about the last thing I'd be concerned about anymore. Not like it was in the 50's and 60's...

Never could develop a taste for goat's milk...but the possibly the BEST BBQ'd meat I ever had was goat...of course, my taste buds COULD have been slightly affected by the tequila we had been drinking...:roll:

I am not worried about fallout :)

I used to work on a mint still so I know the basic premise of seperating liquids by boiling point.

I'll take some better pictures once I'm on the property. There is a family of bobcats lurking around here-I want to snap some pictures of them!

Grand Coolie DOES have the largest power output of any power plant in the entire US though, so ya never know, maybe someone wants to blow it up (doomers prolly think that all the refuges will head there after all other power sources have dried up). Oh well, my house is half a mile from the Tennessee river, so if there is some horrible catastophe I still got fresh water, and you can always jump on a raft and go up the Tennessee river to the Ohio river and then on down the Mississippi, so I could make it all the way to New Orleans just on the current.

I'm not really a doomer. I suspect that if it get's that bad there will be very little cheap energy to facilitate a mass movement. They are already building windfarms along the the columbia-big ones.

BT-I think NO would be the last place to float to ;)

That is a great find. Get the water pump test in the dry season, and make sure that you have a few samples during rainy season for toxins & metals tests. A geothermal system & a few windmills would be sufficient for energy if you have the cash for it.

well being on a river helps a great deal in moving people with littler energy, like I siad, i could go hundreds of miles all the way out to sea just on the current, same is likely true where you live. Just so long as you make sure to get out upstream of the dams and then get back in downstream your good to go.

OH and yeah, no way it go to New Orleans, just saying thats the farthest I could make, theres some pretty sweet islands in the middle of the Tennessee River, I guess if theres a huge nuclear war or something you could hide on one of those pretty well.

The wheat that is in your wonder bread comes from this area-and it's DRYLAND, there is no irrigation to grow the wheat that makes the bread you eat.

I know that it's 100% more able to sustain my family than nearly any place you people live ;)

Yes they are! I'm working out the new windbreak and a site for the strawbale structures.

The well is good-and with drip systems I'll be able to irrigates enough of my garderns to support myself and Maegin, just have to learn to can.

I'm looking for a hunting dog.

I've alwas loved labs but my sister is the expert and I'l be asking her *S*.
