the md5crk prog does have stats for your web page. site stats i like it i was reading the forum that he disabled the applet by default now and the reason it takes up so much proc power is cuz some browers won't let you set the priority not even to lower it, there is talk of having an opt-in version of the app for webmasters also an opt-out version of the app so you can choose. i was wondering where Team Anand was i guess i've been overlooking it when i was looking for teams. but i'm now in there.

Hey Guys,

I've got some stats for MD5crk here

Still some work to do on it and I need to create a php script for the teampage rather than a generated HTML but it should give you a bit better idea how you are doing.

ipb, you probably don't want to do that without permission. Schools and other public institutions tend to look down on those kind of activities unless it's already been cleared with them. It certainly wouldn't be the first time someone has been in trouble over something like that.:(

that's a very good thought, i was looking at my schools computer license agreement and well since i didn't install anything or alter anything and it's not a site with porn or stuff like on it i'm actually in the clear and for the most part the school isn't going to figure it out bc they see this website and think oh just forgot to close it or didn't shut his pc down when he left next time i come to class they might say sumtin but prolly not. but i do thank you for the warning i'm taking it into consideration
at least till they tell me that i can graduate which should be within a month :)

I'm bumping this topic because there's been news from ECC2-109 that they've likely found a solution. The MD5CRK project is very similar to ECC2, and any people from the ECC2 camp looking for a new project might consider MD5CRK as their next project.

Looks like they've taken down the Magic Button off of the main website (md5crk.com), if that was preventing anyone from joining the project.

Thanks...this was keeping me from even looking into it, so I'll have a hard look at the site, and make sure it's not still there. ;)

Edit: it seems to still be there, reguardless of whether or not it's actually in use. I probably won't be looking into this further :(

Actually, they have a link on where you can get it for your site. I tried to enable it just now, and it wouldn't. So, at least it is opt-in, at worst it isn't working on the site anymore. What more do you want?
