New problem: updating Wii system

Figured out the network connectivity problem, it helps if you type the correct MAC address into the filter...

Next problem, it won't let me update the Wii system, it starts to download and then stops without the bar at the bottom moving...

How long did you let it sit there? The first update I went through I thought the same thing, only after 20min or so it moved and it did update. Took close to 30min i think total. It was pretty slow but did work.

No, it sits there and then says it has a problem and reboots.

I can't connect to any of the Wii network thing either (store, weather, etc).

I've had many problems like this with the Wii trying to connect to wireless networks. I've yet to find any solution 🙁 The rest would be 'successful', but the Wii would be unable to connect to anything.

It pisses me off really. My PS3, DS, and PSP can connect just fine, but the Wii can't?

EDIT: I've heard that changing your channels network from the default six to 1 or 11 instead helps, but I have never been able to try due to complications.

I tried changing the channel to 11 last night and it worked...sorta. The update installed in a flash, but I still have TONS of connection issues during prime time. I got on this morning before work just to see if it was any better, it went much faster and connected every time. It's odd, my 360 runs plenty fast online, why is the Wii so buggy and slow?
