New printer

Hello, this is my first thread here :)

Anyway, I am searching currently for a new printer after our old one (Canon MP610) broke; you cannot even turn it on anymore.

Now we would need a new printer rather quickly. The printer is being used irregularly, so the amount of papers printed per month is not as much on average. Usually there is only need to print texts and documents in black&white, but rarely my father printed some photos with the old one.

Now if it wasn't for that I would definitely prefer a laser printer because I am a bit sick of changing the ink cartridges all the time and paying a fortune for them and need changing so often even though we didn't even print so much. There were sometimes also issues with the printer not recognizing ink cartridges anymore or slurred printing which always costed time fixing (although I don't know if that is the printer's or the ink cartridges' fault). I don't know if I could convince my father yet to just get the laser printer and sacrifice his photo printing, he told me I should look for both laser and ink printers.

Important is also that it has a scanning function integrated like our old one. Nice feature would be also WLAN connection, but this would be only "nice to have", it is not mandatory.

In terms of price I am not sure how much is necessary. Our old printer costed around 100-150 Euro if I remember right (it has been some years already). Considering how many issues there were with the old printer I don't know if it is enough money, you will have to tell me. However during the time the printer worked properly, it was fine for us.

I would be thankful for recommendations on models.

Talked to my father now again, he says I should look for laser printer then, we will find a different solution for the photos.

Black&White laser printer will be fine I guess, but if a color laser printer is available for not too much cost (lets say around 150 Euro again) maybe we should consider that instead.

Germany is accurate. Thanks for the advice and the effort, I will note it down :)

edit: Noticed the mentioned models are just pure printers without scanner. I looked myself now for models from Brother and Samsung with Scanner integrated:

Brother DCP-7055
Samsung SCX-3405

Both got decent rating on amazon as well, the Brother one a bit better. Most complaints were with loud cooler from Brother which is probably acceptable for me as well as some Software issues, and for Samsung some issues with jamming which apparently might be caused though by people not removing some transport protection.

Also noticed that color laser printers with scanner don't start below 200 Euro.
