After weeks of suggesting one to the husband, and then finally my other printer going to crap last week, We finally got a new printer. I really wanted the HP 7550 but it was $500 and thats just wasnt in my price budget and after test sampling a few printers at the store i got the Canon i850. HALF the price of the Hp7550.

I'm gonna go hook it up right now and try it out.

Update: For those of you who have this printer I was wondering what kind of Glossy Paper you recommend besides the Canon Photo Paper Pro?

Ah, you're a fellow Ontarian too? I was going to say, you got ripped if those were USD. The Canon i850 is a nice printer... too bad it doesn't have a card reader, but if you have no need for that, then it's good.

Yeah im in the GTA.. I did like the card reader option on the 7550.. but i couldnt see spending 500 for it when i can just print from my computer.

ok I set it up and printed out 4 prints with the 4x6 trial pack that they give.. they came out GREAT! I love it. I dont even care about "settling" for this one compared to the HP one that i REALLLLLY wanted.

i am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase.

Which area?

I haven't seen the need for a color printer yet. That's why I use a laser printer. Which, btw, turns out better blacks than most other inkjets I've seen.

I will now. My tastes in decorating are about nil but I like having pictures of my friends around since they all live hither and yon since we left for college.

I have a dig cam, and i take a whole load of pictures. I always printed them out before with my old printer. Plus seeing as I just got married... i have about 300 pictures on my hdd and I'd like to have a good quality print of atleast 20 of them.
