Hi their.
At our offices, we are getting a new printer- it is getting installed tomorrow.
This is what will happen- we have a printer called 'VIC Office' and another called 'VIC Warehouse'. Now 'VIC Warehouse' will be getting replaced with 'VIC Office' and a new one will take the place of 'VIC Office'.
Just wandering, what is the best way to set this up so very little has to be done to client computers? We have a print server and each PC acceses the share from that print server.
Should I just change the IP address port on the 'VIC Office' to the IP of the new printer, and change the IP address of 'VIC Warehouse' to the IP of 'VIC Office'?
If I Change the Printer name on the Server or the share name, does this change the name on client computers, or does it stop it from working alltogether?
How about a change in a login script?
Any advice appreciated thanks.
Cheers.
Edit: If I just create a new port and change the port on the server to reflect the new printer, this should just work?
