New Predator laptop with issues - help

I just purchased an Acer Predator 17 Gaming Laptop, Core i7, GeForce GTX 1070 with 16GB DDR4 RAM.

I also purchased a set of Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DR x8 Unbuffered SODIMM 260-Pin Memory.

The memory was installed to a total of 48 GB, but today I just got the blue screen (see photo). It looks to be a memory issue since the stop code is listed as "Memory Management".

Do any of you tech savvy guys have any ideas of what could be wrong? I have a limited return window for the hardware and I'm not sure how to proceed troubleshooting. Did I install the wrong memory (it's listed as compatible on Crucial's site), is the memory faulty or could it be something else?

Run a memory test? Bootable Memtest86+ USB boot image, or using something like GoldMem inside Windows (use multiple instances to cover all RAM).

Thank you for the suggestion.

I ran a Memtest86+ test last night and it showed no errors. I attached a few screenshots after the test to show my configuration as well, in case anything looked odd in how the memory was listed or otherwise.

Should I rule out memory fault after this test and are there any logs I can check to see why I had crashes? In short: what would be a good next step for troubleshooting?

Although you do not say so, it appears that you have not assessed the system as it was purchased. So first things first--does the boot complete with just the original equipment ? If not, that opens the possibility of obtaining a replacement system. If the original equipment boots, then the new memory is the problem. Be sure to make sure they’re compatible and inserted properly — RAM displacement could cause this problem!

I just re-read my original question and it wasn't very detailed.

I have been running the system for about a week without a problem. It boots fine, the programs are loading and Windows 10 is working as expected. My computer have only restarted once with the blue screen of death "Memory Management" message I posted, otherwise it's been running with no hick-ups.

As mentioned in the original post, I did check to see if the memory was listed as compatible on Crucial's site so it should be. When I looked at Memtes86's info page, both the memory that came with the system and the memory I added is listed as 'PC4-19200 DDR4 2400MHz 17-17-17-39' so it seems like the specs are identical?

I was thinking that maybe there's a log in Windows somewhere I can look at for the time the computer crashed and see what caused it.

Also, sometimes mixing different brands of RAM can cause issues, regardless if they are the same speed and timings. It call comes down to the fixes the manufacturer provides for their BIOS. Motherboard manufacturers often issue BIOS updates to fix odd issues like that, but it would be up to Acer to do that (and I'm 0-2 with Acer systems).

Mixing brands of memory can lead to all sort of weird issues. If you want more memory than what it came with, buy a set of matched sticks and set the original memory aside. Even mixing sticks from the same manufacturer can be a disaster

Sorry for the late response, it's been a busy week.

I've bookmarked the WhoCrashed website and will take a closer look at it. Really appreciate the info on the incompatibility issues even when they are matched on speed and timing, I had no idea.
