The $52 price would be my #1 clue. You generally get what you pay for. Try your old PSU, yeah... won't take more than a couple minutes to plug it into your hardware and fire it up. Can I suggest getting a quality-brand unit if that's what the problem is, Fortron Blue Storm for example.

BLARG.... I figured it out... I connected an ATX 2.0.1 24 pin connector to my computer which has ATX 2.0 20 pin mobo connector..

Does that mean I fried my board? 🙁

Bleh..

I took the trouble to drop in an image of a 20-pin plug next to the 24-pin, so people could see how 20 pins are carried over to the new 24-pin plug, and which 20 they are.

Hmm.. So do the first 20 pins on the 24 pin connector match with the 20 pin connector...?

Sorry I'm a n00b at the new connectors.. I havent built a system in over a year.. 🙁

Exactly. Notice the image shows the little latch protrusion to help you identify which side's which as you look at the cable. Also, the individual plastic pins themselves are various shapes to help deter people from plugging them in 180° backwards (believe it or not, I managed to pull that stunt once, in my early days 😱). or in your case, to deter plugging the wrong 20 pins into the mobo.

Ahh.. ok I looked carfully at your diagram, and it turns out that my PSU has a split 20+4 connector. But based on your diagram it still looks like the pins dont line up correctly for me.. notice how the "center" of the two connectors is off.... ugh i donno..

Edit: yea.. looking at it again, I definately I have sort of "split" 20+4 connnector and all the 20 pins do seem to line up with my mobo..

maybe the psu really is dead... ? ;(
