New power supply?

I currently have a Thermaltake TR2-430W with 18A on the 12V rail. I'm guessing this won't be enough for a new system. Haven't decided exactly what'll be going in the new box, but I know it'll be AM2 or Conroe, a single x1900xt, and no more than 2 optical drives and 2 hard drives.

Will my current PS be enough?

How about this Antec? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103937

Any other suggestions?

No but seriously your PSU should do just fine.

Maybe, maybe not. His current craptastic TT only has 18A on the 12v rail; fine for a 300 watt PSU but pretty pathetic for a 400+ unit.

The TT at 18A wont hold much. For a gaming rig I'm going to recommend 500W. Enermax, Fortron, Sparkle, Enhance, Zippy, OCZ, Seasonic, PC P&C. They all make great power supplies, just pick a 500W model. If you want modular, look at Enermax or Seasonic.

Seasonic doesn?t have a modular PSU yet, and OCZ doesn?t make power supplies.

500 watts certainly isn't needed, the OP is probably looking at 250 watts DC, if that.

Can you guys explain to me the difference between SmartPower and TruePower on the Antec line? Im guessing a few extra AMPs on the 12v or maybe less shared power on the rails.
