New Power Supply.

Situation: A friend is giving me a new ATX Power Supply (400Watt). My PC is old (Compaq Presarion 5900Z-700B) and uses 2 UltraDMA Hard drives.

Question #1: Will the connectors from the New PS work with the old HDs?

Questions #2 & #3: What about the Motherboard PS connector? 20 or 24 PIN connectors?

Since I haven't seen the new SATA or old ATA HDs, I have no idea if the PS connectors used are different. But I do think that I need to use a 20 PIN MotherBoard PS connector. Right?😕

TIA:beer:

The new power supply will be fine for the HD's. All the hard drives need are 4 pin molex connectors. 24 pin mobo connector is for new motherboards. 20 pin ATX is probably what you'd have in there.
