Okay, so I've decided not to wait for the ATI/AMD 2600's to come out and get a X1950pro to tide me over until we see what comes of DirectX 10.

My problem now is this. I have a Q-pack case with the stock power supply, and while it is rated for 14Amps and 16Amps on the Dual 12V rails, I have not heard good things about it's reliability. Now I have been using this Case and power supply for almost a year, but I am also hearing that the X1950pro can really require a lot of power. On the plus side, if I do get a better power supply it will set me up for future upgrades to the system nicely.....

What do you guys think? Should I just get the Video Card and see? Or should I get the Card and a better power supply?

And if I need to get a new power supply, are there any recommendations so I can run the Video Cards of the future?

Thanks in advance. :)

I recommend going for a good PSU and a X1950PRO, is one of the cards that offers the best bang for the buck, is not a good idea to adopt DX10 considering that doesn't perform great on high end 8800GTX or Radeon HD 2900XT (Based on the Lost Planet performance numbers on some forums and webpages) and it's poor buggy stage of the DX10 API programming and drivers. I was one of the very first which adopted DX9 with my 9700PRO and when it DX9 was first implemented, it ran it beautiful, but once it became more widely used and better implemented, that card struggled to keep playable framerate on high quality settings, if such powerful cards like the 8800GTX and Radeon HD2900XT struggles in Lost Planet at DX10 mode today, what will happen tomorrow? Even though Lost Planet is not a complete representation of what will happen in the future with DX10 tittles, will give you a glimpse of what we can see.
