The power socket was broken so I ordered a new power board off ebay.
I just finished reassembling and two annoying symptoms occur:
1. Laptop will start but icon notifies battery is not charging.
2. Monitor flickers off momentarily once every 6 seconds.
As mentioned above I see a momentary flicker of the monitor every 6 seconds.
Searching the internet I found someone who had the same experience and the only way to make it stop blinking was to remove the battery.
I did the same and it did stop. However, if I ran on just battery alone it would again stop blinking.
The problem is the combination of the charger and the battery both connected and operating at the same time.
If you've heard of this before please describe.
I guess I'll return the part for a replacement.
