new person wondering about error messages,

you know the numbers that pop up as "error 123" ect.
how do you find what those numbers stand for?
i'm really wanting to understand,

It would help if you told us what OS you're using, what program it is, etc..

sorry,
i'm using windows 2000 pro, and i get a lot of error messages when i'm trying to load nero and deer hunter. won't load all the way,
is there someplace that discribs what the errors are?

Go here and type in the error message (as you see it) in the search field. You should get returns with more info on your problem. Another option would be to search google with the error message and hope you get returns explaing your problem....
