New Pentium4 1.8 !

Holy Crap! That's an expensive freekin' chip. Granted it's probably fast and beautiful and all, I'm not straying from the AMD's T-Bird series.

yep...i dont think ill buy a P4 until they come out with the new ones on the 0.13 micron process and 512 kb of cache...right now the upgrade path for the current p4 is very limited

If it's not in stock that's almost surely tentative pricing. It'll be less when they're really selling them.
 
$582 was the price Intel quoted for the 1.8 P4 part. Not all that surprising. Is it way overpriced? Of course, but people will buy it nonetheless.

Screw past processor prices, we're dealing w/ prices today. You can a 1.4ghz Athlon for 168 bucks. You're screwing yourself over if you buy a p4 1.8ghz 😛

not going to have any intel based machine any time soon. Not until they stop charging premium price on their cpus. It's nuts!

$ 29 (shipping fees)
- $582 (cost of P4 1.8GHz at launch)

Figure $415 with shipping, and that's being generous. You've got cash to spare for a decent Radeon or a GeForce2 of some sort. Or extra RAM, or a nice hard drive, whatever tickles the fancy.

Overpriced? Yes, I'd say so. 😀

as that would be a p4, i'll try my hardest to avoid visual contact.
