Intel's Pentium III sspec sheet

Interestingly enough, they show a new 1.1ghz pIII cpu that's still manufactured on the 0.18 micron process. They only have 1 Tualatin processor so far, a 1.13ghz that has 512k cache and runs at 1.45v! They claim that this chip only works on server boards though.

<< The damn 1.1GHz processor is 100MHz FSB >>

not much o/clocking potential there with that core! :(

will the new Tualatin processors run on the old P3 motherboards?

cause a dual Tualatin on a VP6 would be sweet :)

Tualatin won't work in existing boards.

Sure you can overclockbut how much do you think a 1.1GHz P3 is going to o/c?
The vast majority of 1GHz P3's won't hit 1.1 as it is. I doubt you'd get very far with it.

Personally, I'd rather the 133MHz FSB 1GHz processor.

I agree with RAND, the 1.1ghz p3, if it is on the .18 core, isn't going to clock anywhere above 1.1 (remember the 1.13..:)..)

Now i wonder what they mean by "server only boards", Cuz i've been eyeing up a TUSL2, and one of those 1.26 512k models will work nicely. Duel 1.26 would be even better, but, i don't think there is a chance or getting a non-VIA or non-serverworks board.

That my friend is how companies unfortunatlly make $$$$....
Anyway, I wonder if you could ask ServerWorks? If they say its possiable, then Nag Asus into releasing a Compatable Bios....I know ABit realesed a "coppermine-T" bios for some of there BX boards..(granted the Coppermine-T is still a (FCPGA)coppermine, "i think" but its worth a shot)
