I'm about to get a very generous gift of either a PDA or Laptop. However, the budget on the laptop is 1100, which can get you a decent computer. If I were to buy a laptop now, I would thinking of:
At least 1 GHZ (Pentium or AMD)
128-256 MB of RAM
20 GB HDD (thats about standard nowadays, right? I could probably go with smaller).
Combo CDRW/DVD
14-15inch TFT
lightweight
Etc, etc.
So that would probably be over 1100.
So, I was thinking of getting a PDA, specifically a 3800 series IPAQ. I've used a Palm Vx, and it was pretty good, but I've been impressed with the reviews that it has been getting. I'm looking at the mid-range model, 64 MB without Bluetooth (I don't think I'll need it). I'm amazed with all the cool stuff you can do with it. The only thing is that I won't be able to carry it around in my pocket, so I'll need to carry a bag everywhere I go
or just take it when I think I'll need it and enter info in later. I'll be doing some more research on new PDAs, but I would like your input.
Thanks
