Reguarding the PCI-E 2.0 standard for GPU power...

Will there be a dual 6pin to 8pin Pci-E adapter?? is that possible or will I REquire a PSU with the new 8pin connector?
And can someone explain the wiring, and how two extra wires doubles the power output?

News to me! Why didn't they just put to 6-pin connectors on the cards in the first place?

There are two possible designs for the 8 pin connector that I've seen. One is just the normal PCI-e connector with two pins added on, and one is the same but the two extra pins are much larger. Since the first one only actually has one more wire than the standard 6 pin (one of the ground holes is left empty), I think the one that's going to be used is the second one. Some manufacturers are already selling power supplies with the first design, though (even though it won't fit in a normal 6 pin plug anyway). There probably will be adapters, but we won't know for sure until a card with one of these connectors comes out, (so not until R600 is released next month sometime).
