Me thinks you should drop a Scythe Ninja in that beautiful P180.

I don't think you need a Scythe Ninja on that, Anand was able to overclock the Core 2 Duos like mad with stock cooling.

Who said anything about overclocking? The Scythe Ninja is fully passive and it works WONDERS in the Antec P180 due to the location of the two 120mm fans. Even with 7v or 5V Nexuses, you get beautiful cooling with the benefit of silence.

you're right, my mistake, I forgot it was a great passive cooler, the Core 2 Duo is probobly cool enouph to run passively, or close to it.

This is probably something I'll consider later on, since I wont be overclocking to much. For me, quietness is much more important than speed, so I'm willing to sacrifice a few MHz on an overclock for peace.

Thanks for replies.

Looks like a solid rig to me.

I assume the motherboard has HD audio, and will suffice for you needs.

You sure know how to get a guy to help you. ;)

Get rid of the 7200.10 and switch it out for a Samsung SP2504C or HD400LJ/HD401LJ. Then replace the Fortron with the Seasonic S12-430. Finally, get a Zalman VF700 (AlCu is fine) for the video card... or VF900, if you want lower temps.

What's wrong with the Forton? It's a quality brand - Forton and PCPC use the same PSU's, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, 5 year warranty > speed to me too :p That and I'm kind of a Segate fanboy (...how you can be a hard drive manufacturer fanboy, I'll never know :p).

You are mistaken.

Seasonic S12 PSUs are the quietest on the market barring passively- and semi-passively-cooled PSUs.

Do you want Seagate or do you want low noise?
