Just built a new PC Runs just fine But, Winows XP sees only 127 GB of my 250 GB drive ?
I have a
XFX 680i ltSLi MB
Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 @ 2.4 gig
1 SATA 250 GB seagate HD

Raid config is Disabled on mb or did I goof when I installed windows XP and ask something about raid drivers ????
I'm also at Service pack 2 and all the lastest updates ?? Suggestions ????????

MOD EDIT: Moved to Memory and Storage. - Zap

EDIT: BY THE WAY, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY MOVE THIS TO EITHER "MEMORY AND STORAGE" OR "GENERAL HARDWARE" TO BENEFIT YOU.

127GB is indicative of pre-service pack 1 windows xp. Did you install with a windows xp sans service pack and then upgraded to service pack 2 later? I think the no service pack windows xp cd is around 500mb and there's also no file in the root directory that has a sp1 or sp2 in its name.
If you want more info, try googling windows xp lba.
Basically, you can format the other 123GB of the hard drive as additional partitions. Or if you want a bigger partition than your 127GB, you'd have to reformat the hard drive with a windows xp cd that has a service pack. The only other alternative that I know is to use something like partition magic to partition the hard drive before formatting and installing windows, but that takes forever through dos.

An addendum to ther00kie16's post, which is absolutely correct:

If you want to go the formatting route, note that it is possible to slipstream XP with service pakcs (search google to find easy instructions to do so). That way you won't have to track down a newer XP CD than your own.

can't you technically just extend the partition in the disk management part of computer management in i think administrative tools after you install windows?
