New PC with XP - couple of questions

Hi guys,

Just got a new PC with windows XP, just a couple quick questions....does anyone know how to get rid of the annoying popups for the net when trying to enter passwords and such? As far as "make sure CAPS LOCKS aren't on", etc.

Also, my flatscreen monitor flickers everytime I try closing a window...I do have the refresh rate set to 85, which is the highest it will go. It's a KDS 17" model 7e

Try modifying the registry key.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Window\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]

"EnableBalloonTips"=dword:00000000

Still have the problem with the monitor screen looking like it shakes every 30 seconds, but at least the balloon thing is gone 🙂
